Gearing up for the school year

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

This year is going to look a bit different; but in these trying times we will succeed together.

As we welcome students back on to campus this school year things will look different, but our teachers will still be giving our children a warm welcome.

We know the last few months have caused anxiety and uncertainty about what next school year will look like. On July 6, 2020, the Florida Commissioner of Education issued the following statement regarding the 2020-21 school year:

“"All schools open. Upon reopening in August, all school boards and charter school governing boards must open brick and mortar schools at least five days per week for all students, subject to advice and order of the Florida Department of Health, local department of health, Executive Order 20-114 and subsequent executive orders."”

Message from OCPS

We understand our community has a lot of questions about the reopening of schools. The answers to many of those questions can be found on pages dedicated to each of the three learning models from which parents will choose: Face-to-Face, OCVS Virtual, and OCPS LaunchED@Home.

You will also find additional frequently asked questions here. The page is being updated daily; however, some answers are conditional and subject to change. For background on all previous School Board discussion see the following meeting video links: July 7; July 14; July 17.
